DATE: 10/15/2018
Itaipava Fonte Nova Arena will open its doors for a 16-hour Carnival party with lots of music and festivities selected from the best of Carnival that Salvador, Bahia has to offer.
Salvador’s Carnival 2019 will offer another creative option for all kinds of festivalgoers. On March 2 and 4 (the Saturday and Monday of Carnival week), Itaipava Fonte Nova Arena, a multiuse arena managed by Odebrecht Engineering & Construction, will hold Carnavalito, an innovative event that will afford those attending a unique experience: enjoying the best of Salvador’s Carnival with safety, convenience and, most importantly, lots of good energy. Sponsored by Master da Itaipava, Carnavalito emerges as yet another option for the residents of Bahia, while attracting various tourists who come to enjoy the festivities.
Last Wednesday (10), a launch cocktail party gathered representatives from the tourism industry, journalists and opinion makers. Hundreds of guests could visualize the party format by donning 3D glasses to discover the scenographic city that will be built inside the Itaipava Fonte Nova Arena especially for the event. Performance art interventions and the sounds of the Mudei de Nome Musical Project anticipated the Carnival climate during the party presented by actor and businessman Thierry Figueira, a veteran of the Carnival scene in the state of Bahia.
About Carnavalito
With two days of over eight hours of music each, the event will feature big names in music that ranges from the styles Axé to Sertanejo, as well as the beats of Samba Reggae and renowned DJs. All in a festive environment with scenography that mimics the traditional stops on the Bahia Carnival street circuit, such as Campo Grande, Barra, Praça Castro Alves, Pelourinho, all in an indoor environment with maximum safety.
The two-day event is expected to attract 14,000 people. The attractions already confirmed include Sertanejo music singer Gusttavo Lima, the traditional Axé music band Chiclete com Banana and the Mudei de Nome Musical Project.
“Carnavalito will be a great warmup for Bahia’s Carnival 2019, a party that can be enjoyed by festival goers heading to their Carnival suites or street blocks,” said Alexandre Gonzaga, commercial director of Fonte Nova Arena. Located in the arena’s South Plaza, the space will feature a gourmet area, a thematic bar with special beers, suites, a site for customizing Carnival shirts, and “Electronic Boards” that artists will use to pull the crowd through the Fonte Nova circuit assembled throughout the site.
The event has the potential to become one of the big new highlights that always has made Salvador a reference in Carnival festivities. “Itaipava will always have a presence in the country’s major cultural and traditional events, and Carnival is one of the most important. Carnavalito brings another option for people who love parties, music and engagement,” said Eliana Cassandre, Brand Advertising manager.
