Rio de Janeiro City Government has started the interventions for the requalification of lot 1 of the Transoeste BRT. The work, which is being carried out by OEC, includes sidewalk replacement and structural recovery of the base of the stretch from the Alvorada Terminal, in Barra, to the Vice President José Alencar Tunnel, in Recreio, and in both directions of Avenida das Américas. The objective is to improve traffic and guarantee the longevity of the structure according to the flow of vehicles and the level of cargo transported daily on these roads.

In all, there will be 36 km of work, which also includes a crossing between the Transoeste and Transolímpico BRT corridors, improvements in road turns and access loops along the stretch, ensuring greater fluidity in local traffic. The construction work is expected to last 18 months and generate about 500 jobs at the peak of the work.
