In constant evolution in the Diversity & Inclusion theme, the next edition of Braskem’s Intern Program brings novelties implemented to guarantee racial diversity among the candidates, attracting specially the interest of black students. With 100% online steps, Decision-Making Test, replacing the gamified Logical Reasoning Test, the selection process will focus on aligning the candidate’s profile with the company’s culture and offer more than 300 opportunities for the States of Bahia, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul and Rio de Janeiro. The registration deadline is October 7, at https://www.braskem.com.br/carreira

In order to guarantee more diversity and inclusion, Braskem also made some selection criteria more flexible. The English is no longer a mandatory language in 40% of job opportunities. The blind selection of résumés, with no access to information such as age and college, also remains. The company kept partnerships with Cia de Talentos, Mais Diversidade consulting, and university black collectives to carry out initiatives to attract, develop and include groups historically minoritized by society.

“Braskem is committed to developing structured actions in order to provide an inclusive and diverse work environment. The Internship Program is the main gateway to the company and we seek to review stages every year, to innovate and learn from the challenges to fulfill our mission of increasing the representativeness of minority groups in the program, especially the black people group.”, says Debora Gepp, responsible for Braskem’s Diversity & Inclusion Program.

This year, one of the stages for selecting candidates for the university internship is an immersive game, in which the candidate chooses an avatar with various combinations of physical characteristics, contemplating human diversity. When navigating the digital platform, developed in partnership with Pushstart, the candidate goes through phases with elements related to Braskem business, introducing and getting to know the company better.

The evaluation starts on second stage, with the resolution of the proposed challenges. The Decision-Making Test will be applied in the next phase, called “Braskem Makers”, a virtual and group dynamic in which the leadership will follow the performance of each candidate and identify fundamental profile types for those who want to be part of Braskem team. The last step is individual interviews with the leaders of each area where the candidate will be an intern.

For the Technical Stage, the candidate will also be selected through a game, which has challenges following a circuit logic, based on individual interviews.

“We understand that for this new direction in the selection process, it is essential that leaders also reflect on their unconscious biases and that they have the ability to identify the soft skills that are important to the daily lives of our teams. For this reason, we have intensified the training in diversity and inclusion of all members responsible for the selection, so they can have an even more careful look. Our main purpose is that this experience be enriching for all candidates, that they have the chance to get to know Braskem better and that they make the decision to integrate our team in a conscious and responsible manner”, says Fernanda Tognolli, member of the Personnel and Organization area of Braskem.

The changes in the Internship Program are in line with the Braskem Value Proposal built together with the employees, represented by the acronym BeUX ***In other words, enhance your best through your the experiences you had. “At Braskem, we believe that the particularities of each individual enrich daily life, ensuring a more creative environment with different repertoires that contribute to everyone’s learning,” concludes Debora Gepp.
