Atvos among the winners of MasterCana 2018 Award

Atvos has just won in two categories at the MasterCana 2018 Award, which honors the Best of the Year in the sugar and ethanol sector in Brazil’s Center-South region.
Rubian Zillmer, People and Organization manager of the Santa Luzia Complex, was elected Professional of the Year in People Management. Rubian has been with Atvos since 2009 and directly works on the development and career management of team members at the Santa Luzia Unit, located in the city of Nova Alvorada do Sul in Mato Grosso do Sul. She is responsible for implementing internal training programs and for promoting the professional growth of the more than 1,700 team members. “I’m very proud to work in the People area and focus my efforts on the development of team members, rekindling in them the spirit of belonging,” she said.
In the Education and Culture category, the Rio Claro Unit received the award for the Atvos Library project. Located in the city of Cachoeira Alta in Goiás and open to the general public, the space houses around 400 titles and seven multimedia computers with free Internet access. The goal is provide the local community with access to reading and research. Leonardo Fadigas, People and Administration manager of the Goiás Complex, says that believing in transformation through knowledge is a big step. “We want to promote the interest in reading among all the residents living around our unit and, thereby, increase access to literary knowledge and create new opportunities for the community.”
This is the third time the Business has won the award. With the focus on developing communities where it operates through training and qualification programs, Atvos gives priority to hiring local labor and cares about making contributions to raise the quality of life in regions where it operates.
