Atvos, committed to the promotion of gender equity, has endorsed the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles. At the 19th International Datagro Conference, representatives of companies in the sugar-energy sector publicly confirmed their support to the initiative of UN Women and the Global Compact.

“We are convinced that a company in which women and men have equal opportunities for growth are more competitive and able to influence the regions in which we are,” explains Juliana Baiardi, Business Leader of Atvos.

For Ludmila Lavigne, responsible for Atvos’ P&O, this is a common agenda between the company and communities: “We seek to build a work environment for our employees that reflects the society that we want,” she adds.

The Women’s Empowerment Principles are considerations for companies to incorporate, into their business, values and practices that foster gender equity – raising leadership awareness, treating men and women fairly, establishing non-discrimination, supporting entrepreneurship, promoting professional development for women, ensuring the health and well-being of all employees and taking action in communities.
