The Norberto Odebrecht Foundation (FNO) was awarded the Pacto pela Mulher – Salvador Seal during a ceremony held this Tuesday (29) at the Sesc Casa do Comércio Theater in Salvador, Bahia. The honor, granted by the Municipal Secretariat for Women, Children, and Youth (SPMJ), is part of the Agosto Lilás campaign, dedicated to raising awareness about ending violence against women.

Representing FNO, Director Cristiane Nascimento took the stage to receive the certification and sign a Pact reaffirming the institution’s commitment to building a fairer, more inclusive, and more equal society for all women. Valid for two years, the seal publicly recognizes public and private entities that stand out for their commitment to gender equality and the implementation of inclusive actions within their internal structures.

It is divided into three categories: Recognition, Commitment, and Excellence. The Foundation was awarded in the Recognition category, intended for institutions that already demonstrate consistent practices in valuing women in the workplace and contributing socially to inclusion and female empowerment. To obtain the seal, FNO submitted a census-based diagnosis of the women in its workforce—who represent 56% of its staff—along with a work plan with goals aimed at addressing inequalities.

“Receiving the Pacto pela Mulher Seal reinforces our commitment to gender equity, not only within our institutional environment but also in the territories where we operate through PDCIS, our social program,” says Eduardo Fraguas, People and Finance Coordinator at FNO.

PDCIS is a set of social technologies implemented by the Foundation since 2003 in the Lower South region of Bahia. Demonstrating a commitment to balanced team composition, in 2024, 56% of leadership positions in partner institutions and their boards were held by women. In training activities focused on family farming, 51% of participants were women. Additionally, 1,476 menstrual dignity kits were distributed to beneficiaries living in vulnerable situations, helping to overcome local challenges and improve the quality of life for rural women and girls.
