New Health Center delivered in Belo Horizonte
DATE: 06/03/2025
On May 19th, Odebrecht Engeneering & Construction delivered the Céu Azul Health Center, another completed project in Belo Horizonte (MG). With this delivery, eight projects are still on progress in the city, including five Health Centers (CS), two Municipal Early Childhood Education Schools (EMEI), and a Central Sterilized Materials and Laboratory (CME). After concluding Céu Azul´s construction, Odebrecht has completed 54 Health Centers and 53 Municipal Schools in the capital of Minas Gerais.
The projects are part of two Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and are scheduled to be delivered by 2026. In August, the CS Independência is expected to be delivered; in September, the Health Center and the Municipal School in the Parque Aviação neighborhood will be delivered. In October, there will be two new additions: the CS Itamarati and the Central Sterilized Materials and Laboratory (CME). In January 2026, it will be the turn of CS Alameda dos Ipês; in February, the EMEI Betânia will be delivered, and in May next year, the CS Jardim Felicidade.
Later this year, construction will begin on 10 new Health Centers. They are: CS Parque Centenário, CS Minas Caixa, and CS Nova York, all in June; CS Santa Rosa and CS Jardim Montanhês in October; CS Vila Leonina and CS Pindorama in November; CS Califórnia, CS Paulo VI, and CS Novo Horizonte, the latter three in December.
Structure
Each Municipal School has eleven classrooms, four of which are accessible to wheelchair users, a library, a meeting room, and an activity room. It also includes a cafeteria, kitchen, rest room for children, playground, accessibility lift platform, and changing rooms.
The Health Centers have 17 general consultation rooms, including waiting rooms, triage, procedures, dressing, collection, vaccination, hygiene, multipurpose space, pharmacy, zoonosis area, and administrative sectors. Additionally, there will be a dental office with six chairs for treatment. The goal is to offer complete and integrated facilities to meet various health needs of the community.
In the Social PPP model, the private partner is responsible for the maintenance and administrative activities of the enterprises, while the City Hall, the public partner, provides specialized labor for health activities in the case of health centers, and education in the case of municipal schools.
