Odebrecht Heads to FLICA in Bahia for Sixth Consecutive Year
DATE: 10/05/2017
“The Magic of Stories:” with this theme, we earned a space to present fun, educational activities at the Cachoeira International Literary Festival (FLICA), which begins October 3. For the sixth consecutive year, we are supporting Bahia’s main literature event, held in the city of Recôncavo Baiano.
Anyone who visits Cachoeira over the next few days will find a space we set up as part of FLICA 2017 in partnership with the Livres Livros (“Free Books”) movement, geared toward children and young people. The event will feature workshops, storytelling, gatherings, and other activities for children and adults. The Odebrecht Group’s participation in the literary festival also includes a cultural exhibit, shows, and the donation of approximately 1,700 works from the Odebrecht Cultural Editions collection.
Exhibit
During the festival, panels reveal CDs and books by artists and cultural groups sponsored by the Odebrecht Group. This is the case of Ilê Ayê. The oldest group of dancers of African descent in Salvador’s Carnival, the Group sponsored its first disc in 1984.
“Since 1959, we have supported art in all of its dimensions, primarily projects in the areas of Literature, Visual Arts, Theater, Dance, and Architectural Recovery. “During this edition of FLICA, we want to demonstrate this long history of support for the cultural area,” said Marcelo Gentil, Head of Communication at Odebrecht S.A. in Bahia.
