The Enseada-Tenenge Consortium announced that it has been selected as the shipbuilding partner of Compagnie Maritime Monegasque (CMM) in its successful bid to deliver six modern hybrid multipurpose vessels of 5,000 DWT (Platform Supply Vessels – PSVs-OSRVs) for operation with Petrobras. These vessels, designed for versatility and efficiency, will have 12-year contracts, ensuring their long-term use in supporting offshore operations.

The construction of these state-of-the-art vessels, when started, will bring significant economic benefits to Bahia, including the creation of hundreds of direct jobs and thousands of indirect jobs. Additionally, the project will contribute to the development of valuable know-how for the region’s shipbuilding and industrial sectors, elevating local expertise in advanced vessel construction.

Enseada’s ability to carry out this project will be reinforced by the expertise of its partner company, Tenenge, a prominent industrial engineering firm with extensive experience in Brazil and a focus on highly complex projects. Tenenge has a proven track record in critical sectors such as oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical, pulp and paper, and energy, ensuring the technical excellence required for this initiative.

These advanced PSVs-OSRVs will feature a new design by Kongsberg Ship Design and a hybrid propulsion system with Wärtsilä engines, making the vessels 30% more fuel-efficient compared to conventional ships. This combination of innovative design, advanced propulsion, and efficient engines optimizes fuel consumption and increases operational safety. Additionally, the ships are designed for future adaptation to the use of ethanol as fuel, which could reduce carbon emissions by up to 70% after implementation.

“We are excited to contribute to this transformative project, which not only strengthens our partnership with global leaders like CMM but also solidifies our commitment to supporting the Brazilian economy, advancing the local industry, and driving innovation in the maritime sector,” said Ricardo Ricardi, CEO of Estaleiro Enseada.

“This project represents a significant milestone for Brazil’s industrial and maritime sectors. By combining the strengths of Tenenge and Enseada, we are ready to deliver vessels that embody innovation, efficiency, and sustainability. It is an honor to contribute to an initiative that will have lasting positive impacts on our economy and highlight Brazilian expertise on the global stage,” said Maurício Almeida, CEO of Tenenge and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Enseada.

“These vessels are a testament to our commitment to sustainability and long-term performance. With firm 12-year contracts with Petrobras, they will play an essential role in supporting offshore operations in the coming years,” added Christophe Vancauwenbergh, CEO of CMM.

Estaleiro Enseada, based in Bahia, is a renowned shipbuilder known for high-quality and complex vessel and offshore projects. Enseada and Tenenge, companies of the Novonor Group, integrate decades of engineering expertise with local resources to deliver world-class projects for the maritime and industrial sectors.

CMM is a Dutch-Brazilian maritime group with operational headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. Specializing in offshore and maritime transport operations, CMM combines international expertise with a strong commitment to sustainable innovation in the maritime sector.
