Norberto Odebrecht Foundation is doubly awarded for its volunteer program with OEC
DATE: 10/29/2024
Promoting a more supportive society, where people mobilize for joint development, is something that the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation (FNO) not only deeply values but also dedicates itself to in its actions. This commitment, materialized in its actions, was recognized last Thursday, the 24th, with the VOL 2024 Award. The FNO was awarded in the category “Volunteer Management in NGOs” for the VOCÊ volunteer program, which it carries out in partnership with OEC, a construction company of the Novonor Group.
But the institution had another reason to celebrate: Adelcio Sousa, responsible for the Partnerships area at FNO, was recognized as “Professional of the Year in Volunteer Management in NGOs” after a popular vote. The two trophies were delivered in a ceremony held at the Regional Accounting Council Theater in São Paulo, bringing together Third Sector organizations and private initiatives to recognize and encourage the best volunteer management practices in Brazil.
“This achievement demonstrates the collaborative spirit and the standard of excellence that everyone involved in this initiative is dedicated to achieving. I am very happy with this recognition, which reinforces the importance of volunteering within the Novonor Group in line with the values of Our Culture,” says Adelcio.
“The quality of exchanges in mentoring and the achievement of the VOL Award leave no doubt that our corporate volunteering is here to stay,” added Paquisa Rocha Brandão, leader of Social Responsibility at OEC. “We feel increasingly stronger and motivated for the future of the program,” she concludes.
VOCÊ
The collaborative volunteer program between the Foundation and OEC, which is already in its second edition, aims to connect members of the engineering and construction company with students from the Rural Family Houses, partner institutions of FNO in the Lower South of Bahia.
The initiative offers mentoring focused on the life and career of young people, providing enriching exchanges of experiences between people from different contexts and realities, fostering the personal and professional development of the participants.
