The largest fundraising event in the country took place on July 3 and 4 in São Paulo.

The Norberto Odebrecht Foundation participated in the ABCR Festival, an event organized by the Brazilian Association of Resource Mobilization Professionals, held in São Paulo (SP) on July 3rd and 4th. Considered the largest fundraising event in Latin America and one of the main conferences in the world in this field, the festival brought together representatives from civil society organizations (CSOs) from across the country for two days of discussions on topics such as artificial intelligence, donor relations, content production for fundraising, and transparency with stakeholders.

Representatives from partner institutions of the Foundation, the rural schools CFAF and CFR-I and social investors were also present at the event.

Adelcio Menezes, responsible for Partnerships at the Foundation, mentioned that participating in events like the ABCR Festival is a priority for the institution. “At the Foundation, we don’t do anything in isolation. We believe that collaboration brings more knowledge and new ideas, from our relationship with local NGOs in the execution of our programs to our interactions with other institutes, associations, and foundations,” he said. “Many of the topics addressed during the Festival are already relevant to our work, while others were new learnings that will undoubtedly benefit our way of engaging donors and investors for our programs and projects,” commented Adelcio.

“Fundraising is in the DNA of our work, and we already use mechanisms such as direct allocation, tax waivers, incentive laws and fundraising with individuals and legal entities. Having participated in the discussions and witnessed the innovations presented during the Festival has already provided new perspectives for us to continue improving these processes, and undoubtedly adds even more value to our association with ABCR,” he concluded.

The event was also an opportunity to network with other third sector institutions: the Foundation was able to connect with representatives of Giving Tuesday (international Giving Day), ABCR, OSC Legal Institute and Hospital Martagão Gesteira, among others.
