Organização passa a integrar lista da maior premiação do Terceiro Setor, dada pelo Instituto Doar

Norberto Odebrecht Foundation is one of the 100 best NGOs in Brazil in 2022. This was the recognition given by the Best NGOs Award, the largest Third Sector award in the country. The initiative of the Instituto Doar in partnership with the Instituto O Mundo Que Queremos announces, every year, the non-profit institutions that stand out for the cause they work for and in aspects such as management, governance, financial sustainability, and transparency. This is the first time that the Foundation is part of the list, which is available at www.premiomelhores.org.

“We received the award with great enthusiasm. After all, it is the recognition of a performance committed to generating impact that promotes social transformation,” explains Fabio Wanderley, superintendent of the Foundation. “The award is a stimulus for the construction and visibility of solid institutions that generate effective social benefits. It is the ratification of the trust placed in us by investors, donors, volunteers, and beneficiaries,” he says.

The Best NGOs Award had thousands of organizations registered, out of the 800 thousand that exist in the whole country. For the second phase, only 380 institutions were approved. From these, the 100 winners were selected, with no ranking among them, based on five major cross-cutting themes of transparency and management in organizations: Cause and Action Strategy, Representation and Accountability, Management and Planning, Funding Strategy, Communication and Accountability. Among the winners of this edition is also the Earth Conservation Organization (OCT), institution that partners with the Foundation in carrying out the PDCIS, our Social Program, and that in 2019 was elected the best environmental NGO in the country.

Cláudia Pimentel, coordinator of Sustainability and Partnerships, points out that being among the 100 best NGOs in the country consolidates the work done by the Foundation. “This recognition certifies not only our organization, but our projects and programs, and ultimately, confidence in the potential of each of our members, partners, and the benefited public,” she says. For Adélcio Menezes, from the Partnerships area, receiving the award is a great milestone. “Being part of a list with organizations that are a reference in their regions and areas of activity is of great relevance to our sector,” he says.

The award will be one of the highlights of the International Festival of Social Innovation (Fiis), which takes place tomorrow (22) in São Paulo and is considered the world’s first festival of entrepreneurship and social innovation. For its classification among the 100 best NGOs, the Foundation will receive a trophy and a certificate on November 25, in an event organized by the Best NGOs Award at Unibes Cultural, in São Paulo.
