Odebrecht Group Compliance Officers among the most admired in Brazil

Five Compliance Officers who work or have worked for the Odebrecht Group have just been chosen among the most admired in Brazil. The highlight was made in the third edition of the Compliance ON TOP survey, released last week by Legal Ethics Compliance (LEC) and Vittore Partners.

Among the 30 most admired Brazilian Compliance professionals are Olga Pontes (Odebrecht S/A), Akira Ano Júnior (Braskem), Everson Bassinello (Braskem), Flávio Serebrinic (Atvos) and Margarida Smith (former OEC member and today at Julius Baer).

The Compliance ON TOP survey was conducted in September and October 2020, with managers and leaders of the Compliance area of companies, Compliance partners of law firms and partners and directors of specialized consultancies. In total, 433 professionals participated in the survey.

For Odebrecht S/A Chief Compliance Officer, Olga Pontes, Compliance is everyone’s responsibility, but being recognized for the third consecutive year as one of the most admired professionals in Brazil is reason for satisfaction.

“The increased interest in the area only demonstrates the relevance that Compliance has achieved in companies, especially in the last three years. Being recognized is a reason for joy, which is added to the fact that in 2020 we won the Odebrecht compliance system certification granted by DoJ monitors, which is also a recognition and an appreciation of the Group’s Compliance professionals,” said Olga.

The presence of Odebrecht Group professionals in the survey dates back to the first edition, in 2018. Olga Pontes and Everson Bassinello are three-time champions (2018/2019/2020), Flávio Serebrinic is two-time champion (2019/2020) and Akira Ano and Margarida Smith champions (2020).
