More than principles written in documents, a company’s culture is revealed every day — in the way people interact, make decisions, and find purpose in their work.

At Horiens — just like within the Novonor Group, of which we are part — trust in people and in their ability to evolve, the spirit of serving, planned delegation, focus on client satisfaction, and the generation of positive impact for society are some of the key attributes of Our Culture. These values have crossed generations, shaping life stories and professional journeys.

In another edition of Horiens’ special publication “Horizontes de Coisas Boas”, we spoke with team members who shared reflections on this unique and deeply rooted culture.

Arlecio Rodrigues has been with the company for 34 years, and Gabriel Nunes for two years — both are part of the Infrastructure Risk & Insurance area. Beatriz Tavares, from the New Business team, has been with the company for four years.

Read the testimonials below to learn how Our Culture has broadened their horizons!

    Arlecio Rodrigues
    Infrastructure Risk & Insurance team
Time at the company: 34 years

“My journey began more than 30 years ago at the Novonor Group’s holding, at the time in Salvador. From the beginning, I noticed that the values practiced by the Group were aligned with my own. That was when I understood that joining the Group would be a turning point in my life.

One of the most memorable moments was when I started working directly ‘in the field’, side by side with the client. There, I could see firsthand the importance of our Survival, Growth, and Perpetuity.

The project was the construction of the Sauípe Tourist Complex, on the coast of Bahia. In that project, I experienced the spirit of serving and customer satisfaction, and I saw the positive impact our work had on surrounding communities. It was a transformative time.

Then came many other challenges, including assignments in Venezuela and Angola — experiences that broadened my worldview. Today, I can confidently say that the trust placed in me and the practice of planned delegation were decisive for my personal and professional growth.

That is Our Culture. It truly moves those who identify with its principles and values. More than just living it, I feel responsible for passing it on — encouraging younger generations to keep an open mind and heart to learn, evolve, and accomplish.”

    Beatriz Tavares
    New Business team
Time at the company: 4 years

“I joined Horiens in 2021, with the challenge of helping structure the New Business area. From day one, it was a very positive experience: I found fertile ground to apply what I knew while also learning and developing.

What stood out to me was the trust placed in my potential and the opportunity for Education Through Work — learning in practice, every day. The team works collaboratively, regardless of the area. I quickly realized it was a very integrated environment.

A milestone for me was winning our first client with direct support from the New Business team. At Horiens, we work as part of the client’s team, understanding their specifics and proposing tailored solutions. This experience helped me truly understand the spirit of serving and the focus on delivering real value to the client.

It has only been four years, but it feels much longer — because I feel deeply connected to Our Culture. It brings meaning to our work and enables us to deliver consistent results, both for our clients and for our own professional growth.”

    Gabriel Nunes
    Infrastructure Risk & Insurance team
Time at the company: 2 years

“I joined Horiens in 2023 as an intern, and in 2024, I was hired full-time. Since then, I have worked in different areas and with different leaders, always finding a dynamic environment that encourages learning and development.

During onboarding, I immediately noticed how strong and present the culture is. In daily work, I quickly identified with the company’s values because many of them were already part of my life.

One aspect I value deeply is planned delegation: I have been given opportunities to lead important situations, always with the support and guidance needed to grow. This trust drives me and gives me a strong sense of development.

Another highlight is the quality of communication. In conversations with my leaders — whether in day-to-day exchanges or in more structured discussions — there is always a sense of partnership. I also notice a strong encouragement toward development, through practical challenges — education through work — and through the promotion of continuous learning.

One example was when a leader I admire saw me studying a topic and immediately sat down beside me to discuss ideas and find the best solution. That is how I experience Our Culture every day.”
