Another important milestone for the conclusion of the project was reached by the Gás Sul Consortium, formed by Tenenge and OEC, in the works of the South Gas Terminal, in execution in Babitonga Bay, in Santa Catarina. On June 11th, the welding of the onshore gas pipeline was concluded, which is 32 km long.

Known as the dotted line team, welders had been interconnecting the pipeline sections distributed along the stretch of pipeline to allow the pipe to be aligned in the previously excavated trenches.

According to Marco Aurélio Barros, engineer and contract director responsible for the work, The completion of the line welds achieved a repair rate of only 3.28%, which shows us the level of training and excellence of the team. “As far as security is concerned, all the work was performed without any accidents with lost time, which proves the commitment of everyone involved with Quality, Health, and Environmental issues, a value for Tenenge”, he states.

The TGS site is now moving on to its final onshore activities, which are the special works, for example, crossings under rivers and public roads, in addition to hydrostatic testing. “Completing each stage on schedule and without accidents gives us the assurance that we are on the right track to meet our Customer’s wishes.” points out Paulo Jorge Fernandes, engineer and Production manager at TGS.
