DATE: 07/18/2024
Committed to the continuous development of its employees and partners, Enseada held another edition of its Daily Work Training (TDT) on July 10, 2024, on the subject of the region’s Cultural Heritage and Tourist Potential. A total of 47 members and employees from partner companies, service providers and clients took part in the activity.
The event was attended by representatives of the Federal Institute of Bahia (IFBA) / Salinas da Margarida Reference Center, Cristiane Silvão and Emily Teles, who also highlighted the importance of IFBA’s work in the region, especially in offering courses that meet local vocational training demands.
One of the highlights of the training was the discussion on the development of the “Tourist Information Agents” course, supported by Enseada. This course aims to train professionals to work in the tourism sector, providing information and assistance to visitors, promoting the appreciation and development of local tourism and highlighting the cultural references in the region.
In addition, the tourist potential of the Maragojipe and Salinas da Margarida region was highlighted, covering various aspects such as sun and beach tourism, religious tourism, gastronomy, history and cultural immersion. With stunning landscapes, a rich cultural heritage and typical gastronomy, the municipalities have all the ingredients to become an outstanding tourist destination.
According to teacher Êmylli, “During TDT we tried to present the development of the “Tourist Information Agents” course in Salinas da Margarida to the Enseada employees. We described some of the themes covered in class, which are extremely important for tourism in the region, such as oral and written communication, the development of marketing strategies, and geographical and historical knowledge, which provide a wealth of historical and cultural heritage. This moment was of singular importance. In a general context, to reinforce the tourist potential for sun and beach tourism, religious tourism, gastronomy, history, cultural immersion and many others, of a bordering municipality of great influence for the territory where the company is located. In addition, a considerable number of the employees are from the region and may have family members or acquaintances who live there. It is therefore interesting to observe this movement of professional development, which brings better prospects for the future!”
At the event, the participants received the booklet “Cultural Heritage: cultural references in the area of influence of the shipyard”, which illustrates the situation of some of the main cultural assets in the Recôncavo region, organized according to the categories defined by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN) as: celebrations, forms of expression, crafts and ways of doing things, and buildings and places. The booklet is part of Enseada’s Sustainability collection, expanding the dissemination of knowledge about the region’s cultural riches and references in compliance with IPHAN’s consent.
During the training, IFBA coordinator Cristiane Silvão presented various courses offered by the institute, focusing on strategic areas such as fish processing, IT, oyster farming, fish farming and tourism. The updating of aquaculture producers and professionals was also emphasized, highlighting the importance of training workers to improve their practices and increase competitiveness. It is worth mentioning the strong relationship between the courses offered by the Institute and the fact that a large part of the population in the region’s municipalities has fishing, shellfish gathering and aquaculture as their main source of income.
Cristiane Silvão and Emily Teles highlighted the prospect of growth from short courses to regular courses and higher education. This educational development provides access to broader opportunities in the job market, promoting professional engagement and economic development in the region. For the listeners, most of whom are local residents, the information was extremely valuable, as it offers the possibility of qualification and spreading these opportunities to family and friends.
Enseada’s initiative to promote the TDT demonstrates its commitment to professional qualification and the sustainable development of the region. The partnership with IFBA and the organization of training courses like this one are essential for training the local workforce, strengthening the economy and enhancing the tourist potential of Salinas da Margarida and the region.
