SEINFRA resumes maintenance of BA-514 highway in São Roque do Paraguaçu
DATE: 09/10/2024
The Bahia State Infrastructure Office (SEINFRA) has resumed maintenance work on the BA-514 highway, also known as the old BR-420, which connects BA-001 junction in Nazaré to the district of São Roque do Paraguaçu in Maragogipe. Five kilometers of the road have already been repaired, as part of the ongoing effort to ensure better traffic conditions and safety for road users.
According to the Technical Note submitted by SEINFRA, the project to completely requalify the highway, which includes rebuilding of the Hot-Mix Bituminous Concrete (CBUQ) paving along a 21.145 km stretch, has already been completed. The expectation now is that the public notice will soon be issued for the final road rehabilitation works, ensuring continuance of the improvements that will benefit the region.
The upgrading of BA-514 is extremely important not only for the residents of the São Roque do Paraguaçu community, but also for the companies operating in the region. The renewed paving is expected to have a positive impact on local economic development, facilitating the transportation of goods and promoting the integration of productive areas. Improving the road infrastructure will also make it safer for drivers and pedestrians who use the highway every day, as well as boosting tourism and local commerce, consolidating the region as an important development hub in the Recôncavo Baiano.
Enseada reinforces its commitment to accompany the negotiations to recover the highway, emphasizing the importance of this road not only for mobility, but also for the economic and social growth of São Roque do Paraguaçu and the region, which will promote more opportunities and quality of life for the local population.
