Read the Letter to the Future

The leaders present at the 2017 Odebrecht Annual Meeting helped draft the Letter to the Future, which we are sharing with you.

To the future,

We write this letter to you at this challenging moment in our history. We are speaking, from the present, a time that inspires us to evolve and which drives us to you, the future. For us, synonymous with a promising time marked by innovation, inclusion, ethics, integrity and transparency.

You know that we are determined and that, with our spirit of service and our ability to transform people’s lives for the better, we are capable renewing our vision we have of you. After all, we are old acquaintances.

We now want, in this present moment, to reaffirm our commitment.

We will be a solid company, with sustainable and ethical practices. We will operate in important sectors, actively participating in the development of communities where we operate. We will continue to innovate, dream, transform and achieve.

In the future, we will have learned how to work in new regions, sectors and clients. We will strike important strategic alliances. Our governance will create value by ensuring autonomy and connection of businesses at the same time.  

It will be a long journey, but we will regain the reputation, trust and admiration of society and our team members.  

Our future will be built by the dedication and efforts of educator leaders and their teams, all united by a purpose. There will be different generations, working with energy and a collaborative spirit, in inclusive environments. Our leaders will be committed to the generation of sustainable results.

Our culture will have evolved to keep abreast of the changes in the world and in society, but we will not lose our essence, of humanist values. We know that a company without culture is a company without future, always.

Exceeding the expectations of our shareholders, clients, team members, partners and the society, we are confident that we will soon meet again to renew and take on fresh challenges.

We will reach you, future, because this is the dream of those who remain committed to perpetuity.
