Bahian developments win international award that recognizes excellence and the highest quality standards – OR’s Monvert and Legacy will be awarded in Los Angeles in September
When it comes to real estate and luxury homes, Salvador stands out for hosting innovative and sustainable projects that have been recognized worldwide for their grandeur and exclusivity. Inserted in this context as one of the main companies operating in this segment, OR, the real estate arm of Novonor Group, has in its portfolio in the capital of Bahia, Monvert and Legacy, which have just won, respectively, the international Americas Property Awards for Best Sustainable Residential Development and Best Residential Skyscraper Development.
This award is part of the renowned International Property Awards – which recognizes excellence and the highest quality standards in prime real estate developments globally, including development, sustainable practices, interior design and architecture. The awards, which have been running since 1993, include ten categories and are divided into nine regions: Africa, Asia Pacific, Arabia, Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States. More than 50 internationally respected experts select and judge the projects for the award each year.
“This latest achievement reinforces OR’s commitment to delivering developments with the best quality standards to our clients, prioritizing intelligent, innovative, efficient and, above all, sustainable architecture,” says Daniel Sampaio, OR’s superintendent in Bahia.
Aimed at developers, builders, realtors, interior designers, architects, advertising and communications agencies, the Americas Property Awards will be presented at a special ceremony in Los Angeles, United States, on September 26. The event’s main sponsors include Bentley, Jaguar, Mercedes and Aston Martin.
Monvert and Legacy
Located in Horto Florestal, in Salvador, Monvert, a residential development planned and built by OR, also won the award as the Real Estate Development of the 27th edition of the Association of Real Estate Market Company Managers of Bahia (ADEMI-BA) Awards. OR, which has already received the organization’s recognition as Best Company of the Year four times for its dedication, innovation and contributions to the development of the state of Bahia, has won numerous awards with this venture.
This year, Monvert became the first residential development in Brazil to receive the EDGE Advanced sustainability seal, a green building certification program created by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. It had already achieved the first level of this certification in 2020, when it became the first residential building in the North-Northeast to receive this Sustainable Construction seal, for having reduced the use of water, electricity and energy used in the manufacturing of materials by at least 20%. Obtaining the Advanced Level represents even better results, in addition to 40% energy savings.
The various attributes of sustainability have also made it possible to consolidate the Gold Level Green IPTU for residents, in which Salvador City Hall grants a 10% discount on the Urban Property Tax.
Another OR development that is following the same path is Legacy, which is under construction in Caminho das Árvores and will have the tallest tower in the capital of Bahia. An architectural landmark and a commitment to sustainability, the development is deeply linked to conscious strategies for the use and reuse of natural resources, setting an example for more sustainable buildings to follow in the market. With several integrated actions, Legacy has already been pre-certified with the EDGE seal and is a strong candidate to receive the Gold Level Green IPTU benefit.
