Outstanding volunteer in the Tribute to the Future campaign visits the Southern Bahia Lowlands as a form of recognition
DATE: 05/20/2025
In the Baixo Sul region of Bahia, Nathalya Mendes, a member of PROSUB EBN/Odebrecht Engineering & Construction, had the opportunity to see firsthand the impact of her role as a Future Agent in the Tribute to the Future campaign by the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation. As the volunteer who mobilized the most people to donate in the 2024 campaign (104 colleagues engaged), Nathalya was rewarded with the chance to visit the Family Homes, rural schools partnered with the Foundation, and learn about the stories of the young beneficiaries.
During the visit, which took place on May 15 and 16, Nathalya spoke with students and their parents and was able to see firsthand how the donations she helped raise are transforming the lives of entire families. “This is not only a professional achievement but also a personal one. I already believed and invested a lot in the project as a Future Agent, but experiencing this, seeing how a contribution, even if small, can have such an impact, is impressive. I am leaving here fulfilled and even more motivated,” she said.
Before going to Baixo Sul, Nathalya had the opportunity to learn about the history of Norberto Odebrecht and the foundations that inspired Our Culture through a guided tour of the Odebrecht Culture Center, located in Salvador, and conversations with the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation team.
About the campaign
Created in 2004, Tribute to the Future raises funds to support the education of teenagers who are children of family farmers through the Family Homes of Baixo Sul da Bahia, which are part of the Foundation’s social program. Future Agents are volunteers from the Novonor Group who mobilize to engage others in this essential cause for sustainable development and the strengthening of local communities.
All funds raised by the campaign are allocated to the Municipal Funds for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (FIA) in the municipalities where the Family Homes operate. These funds manage and transfer the amounts to the educational projects of the schools, which benefit approximately 350 teenagers per year for free and indirectly impact thousands of people. In 2024, Tribute to the Future raised R$ 4.5 million, thanks to the engagement of 1,542 donors, including individuals and companies. Over the past 15 years, more than R$ 50 million has been raised by the campaign.
