OR supports “Viva Infância” Institute in acquiring a new headquarters
DATE: 08/13/2025

Focused on promoting children’s mental health and defending children’s rights, the “Viva Infância” Institute has become a reference in Salvador. Active for 19 years, the institution has just acquired a new headquarters and currently serves dozens of socially vulnerable children coming from families without access to private healthcare, and many of which are led by women. The growth of the Institute’s work has been driven by support from strategic private sector partners, whose collaboration has expanded the reach of services and strengthened the institution’s presence in the capital of Bahia.
In 2025, the Institute took an important step by acquiring a new headquarters in Vila Laura, ensuring the continuity of its services and educational activities. OR, a partner of the institution since 2019, has also contributed to this effort by helping with the position, structure, and present the organization’s brand. The company was fundamental in securing the new headquarters, not only by providing financial resources but also by assisting in identifying the property and finalizing the purchase. The developer supported the search for suitable properties, proper pricing, negotiation, and formalization of the acquisition.
The new facility replaces the organization’s temporary headquarters previously located in Boca do Rio and is already enabling the expansion of clinical services and offering more appropriate spaces for welcoming families.
A sensitive approach to childhood
Guided by ethical principles and an interdisciplinary perspective, Viva Infância Institute serves children aged 0 to 10 with actions based on the Child and Adolescent Statute and the Legal Framework for Early Childhood. The institution’s work considers various forms of vulnerability, such as racism, ableism, and poverty, promoting sensitive and humanized listening.
“The beginning of this important initiative was made possible with the support of Engenhonovo agency, a long-time partner that, with vision and social commitment, gave the initial push that enabled the consolidation of Viva Infância Institute”, explains Maria Auxiliadora Mascarenhas Fernandes, president of the entity. According to her, OR’s significant contribution further boosted the campaign, sparking civil society engagement: “Collective mobilization was essential to reach the final goal, with donations completing the necessary resources. This process reinforces the importance of collaboration between different sectors—private initiative, civil society, and institutions—in building solutions that generate positive and lasting impact.”
Solidarity, unity, and social transformation starting in childhood
For Daniel Sampaio, OR’s superintendent in Bahia, social investment should not be merely philanthropic but structural and lasting, contributing real solutions to strengthen the territories where the company operates: “This initiative reflects a growing movement in the construction sector, which is also seeking to take a leading role in promoting human development and reducing social inequalities.”
This nonprofit social organization works in psychosocial care through interdisciplinary services for children and their families, beyond training professionals in the child care network. Over its 19 years of operation, Viva Infância Institute has supported hundreds of vulnerable children and families.
The institution also promotes social mobilization campaigns and actively participates in discussions and improvements of public policies aimed at its target audience. It is part of the National Early Childhood Network, alongside more than 250 organizations across Brazil advocating for effective social impact actions in defense of children’s rights. The entity recently partnered with the Bahia Pediatric Society through the “Adopt a Child” campaign, which connects volunteer pediatricians with assisted families, reaffirming that mental and physical health are inseparable. It also collaborates with Santa Casa Colleges. To support the Institute, visit @institutovivainfancia (Instagram) or WhatsApp (71) 98914-0248.
