OR promotes the 2nd edition of the Beach Cleaning Action

Last Saturday (03/26), the second edition of the Beach Cleaning Action took place, which is promoted by OR and aims to encourage the manual cleaning of beaches impacted by incorrect waste disposal.

In the second edition, the beach selected for cleaning was Piatã Beach, located in Salvador/BA. 26 volunteer members helped with the support of 4 partners of the Monvert’s work: Eucafi Engenharia, Amaral Coletas, CSP Fábrica de Papel, and Picolé da Lapa.

The person responsible for the action was Wendy Wicks, from the Bahia regional HSE team. She believes that this action provides an improvement in the quality of life, both for the marine animals and for everyone’s well-being. “I decided to perform this action at this location and date because of the rainy season that brings a lot of waste from the mainland to the beach, besides being an area quite busy with bathers and having excellent diving spot.”
