This June, OEC was successful in the certification process for its Sustainability actions, which underpins its positioning and actions in this area. After an extensive audit conducted by Bureau Veritas, a globally recognized independent certification body, the company’s projects in Brazil and Angola ensured that the ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications for the company’s environmental management and occupational health and safety systems were maintained. The achievement of this goal and, above all, the comprehensiveness of the certified sample, is the result of the commitment of all the teams on site. OEC’s sustainability management systems have been certified for 26 years.

For Alexandre Baltar, OEC’s ESG Director, “This achievement reaffirms and demonstrates the effort and work dedicated to preserving our greatest asset – the lives and well-being of our workers and other people involved in our operation”.

Paulo Cintra, responsible for Occupational Safety at OEC, added: “This process of maintaining our certifications also reinforces our commitment to preserving the environment and to sustainable development, in line with the objectives of our customers and other stakeholders. The maintenance recommendation gives OEC yet another competitive edge in the market and motivates us to seek more and more improvement and maturity in our processes.”
