Odebrecht Engineering & Construction has been recognized by the Engineering Institute and ConVisão CNC – Central de Notícias da Construção with the 2025 Best and Largest Projects Award, in the Road Bridge category, for the Guaratuba Bridge project on the coast of Paraná. The certificate ceremony will take place on Tuesday (21st) at 5 p.m. at the Engineering Institute headquarters in São Paulo.

With over 70% of the project completed, the bridge is one of the most anticipated developments by the people of Paraná and will connect the municipalities of Guaratuba and Matinhos, replacing the current ferry crossing. Scheduled for delivery in 2026 and with an investment of approximately R$ 400 million, the project is expected to directly benefit residents, tourists, and the productive sector, marking a milestone in regional mobility and economic development.

Led by the Nova Ponte Consortium, formed by Odebrecht Engineering & Construction, Carioca Engenharia, and Gel Engenharia, the project stands out for its use of innovative technologies, such as the integrated application of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and drone-based aerial surveying, which enabled the anticipation of interferences, risk reduction, and increased precision. This combination resulted in a 74% reduction in costs and a 77% reduction in topographic survey time, along with gains in safety and productivity.

With more than three kilometers in length, the Guaratuba Bridge and its access roads are consolidated as one of the largest engineering projects currently underway in Brazil, mobilizing significant human and technological resources, with active work fronts at various stages of construction. To ensure progress and quality execution, the consortium adopted a continuous work model, ensuring speed and safety.

The completion of the bridge will end decades of waiting and long ferry queues, improving the lives of thousands of people who travel through the region. In addition to facilitating daily commuting, the project is expected to boost tourism and strengthen the economy of Paraná’s coastline, being considered one of the most relevant infrastructure projects in the country.
