The Norberto Odebrecht Foundation has kicked off its 60th anniversary celebrations with the launch of the institutional campaign “Serving...
From August 11 to 14, the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation was in the South region of the Bahia State to launch the “Nossa Cultura” (Our Culture) Program within PDCIS. The initiative was developed to strengthen, within the institutions that implement its Integrated Development and Growth Program with Sustainability , (PDCIS) the values, principles, and concepts of the culture that guides the Foundation and the entire Novonor Group.
Through lectures, group dynamics, and activities, the meetings provided 104 members from the four partner institutions with bigger knowledge about Nossa Cultura, the legacy of its founder, Norberto Odebrecht, and the practice of the Action Program, an essential tool for evaluation and monitoring in the execution of PDCIS.
“I had my first contact with Our Culture and the privilege of learning more about the man of integrity that Dr. Norberto Odebrecht was , who did not seek profit alone, but aimed to improve the quality of life for those most in need through social actions in our territory of Bahia,” said Arisson Machado, technical educator and new member of the Land Conservation Organization, a PDCIS partner institution.
To Liana Garrido, responsible for the historical archive of the Novonor Group and one of the program’s speakers, “besides being a great opportunity for long-time members to reconnect with the teachings of the culture, the arrival of new members to PDCIS makes its dissemination essential so that we remain aligned and speak the same language.” Arisson confirms the goal was achieved: “The program really spoke to me. I’ve become a multiplier of Norberto Odebrecht,” he said.

Next Steps
Last year, the Foundation developed the “Systematization of Nossa Cultura Applied to PDCIS,” a material that explores and presents pedagogical practices for sharing organizational culture among beneficiaries. The Nossa Cultura Program in PDCIS emerges as a complementary institutional action, but directing its focus on the teams and members of the social program.
“By understanding that the social impact generated by PDCIS is directly related to a culture centered on trust and the spirit of service, our role became clear: to preserve, transmit, and reflect on Nossa Cultura and the legacy of Dr. Norberto Odebrecht for the execution and implementation of the program in the south of Bahia,” said Jonas Nascimento, Sustainability Coordinator at the Foundation.
As the next step of the initiative, a four-day study cycle will be conducted by each of the partner institutions. “The cycle will include discussions of materials available in a repository of texts and videos, and will conclude with a final meeting, continuing what was started in person,” Jonas added.
