ICN (Itaguaí Construções Navais) delivered the first Riachuelo Class submarine to the Brazilian Navy. The Weapons Show Ceremony was held this past Thursday, 01/09, after an extensive and rigorous testing schedule was completed to ensure the completion of this highly complex project.

The event was attended by Héctor Núñez, CEO of Novonor Group, Mauricio Cruz Lopes, Business Leader of OEC, Marcelo Hofke, Managing Director of OEC Brazil, and other authorities.

The OEC was responsible for the construction of all necessary infrastructure for the Manufacture, Assembly, Operation, and Maintenance of the submarine.

In order for the Riachuelo to be integrated into the Submarine Force, the ship had to comply with an extensive and rigorous schedule of acceptance tests at dock and at sea. Some important examples such as surface navigation, static immersion, and dynamic immersion at high speed, and many others, gave the crew confidence and autonomy.

Novonor Group congratulates everyone and is proud to be part of yet another important chapter in the implementation of infrastructure for the construction of Submarines, intended for operation in the Brazilian Naval Force.
