At the end of October we held the 1st Our Culture Week at Horiens, an initiative proposed by Novonor to all the Group’s companies as a way of highlighting the importance of corporate culture for both business and people development.

“Our Culture has always been a strength of our Group, recognized internally by the members and also externally, by customers and business partners,” said Marcelo Neves, CEO of Horiens, at Café com Cultura, an event that took place at Horiens to mark the beginning of the week.

Café com Cultura was one of the highlights of the week, with two editions that created a very interesting space for dialog and exchange of experiences internally. The events featured the special participation of members Marcelo Neves, Arlecio Rodrigues and Beatriz Tavares, who were invited to share their individual experiences with Our Culture, connecting Our Values to their life and career stories.

“These discussions were valuable moments of connection between our team. We had a lot of participation from the team,” says Fernanda Antonelli, head of the People, Communication and Marketing areas at Horiens.

In addition to the Café com Cultura, the week was full of themed activities, such as games in one of the office meeting rooms.

There were also actions that highlighted values such as the impact we have on society, through the campaign to join Tribute to the Future, a program run by the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation (FNO), and the promotion of diversity and inclusion, through actions that highlighted the individualities that represent our members.

    Inside Our Culture
Our Culture is a work philosophy that is totally centered on people and their ability to develop. This happens on the basis of values that guide our actions and through each member’s PA Cycle (Action Program), which is focused on the Business Task that involves winning and bags. Some of them emphasized how much teamwork makes a difference to planning and strategy and customer satisfaction.

“Throughout this Cycle, the members map out challenges that will make them develop to achieve them, put into practice concepts such as planned delegation and education through work, build strong relationships of trust and partnership, and are encouraged to take the lead in their lives and careers,” explains Fernanda. “The week’s actions highlighted the strength of these principles and values in the lives and work of the members,” says Fernanda.

    What our members say:

“As the daughter of northeastern migrants who have always believed in the power of work and the transformative power of education, when I started my career in the group I soon identified with aspects of the culture such as planned delegation and trust in the potential of each human being.

I had the opportunity to share a little of my vision of this at Café com Cultura and it was an experience that undoubtedly reinforced my identification with the company and our team spirit.

The whole week, in fact, was excellent, with many moments of relaxation and dialog, both light and powerful. The members got excited and took part in the proposed actions!”
Beatriz Tavares, a 3-year member of the New Business team

“Taking part in Culture Week was an extremely enriching experience, especially considering that I only joined the company a short time ago.

It was possible to identify that Horiens has values that are very present in everyone’s daily lives. If I could choose the ones I most identify with, I’d say integrity and respect. I believe that these values are fundamental not just for the workplace, but for life in society.

During this week of activities, I was able to see how ingrained this is in the way the members of the company think and act. The proposed actions were inspiring and the atmosphere was one of collaboration and enthusiasm. May the next editions come!”
Flávio Filho, member of the Guarantees, Credit and Political Risk team for one month

“Based on the belief in the capacity and potential of human beings to develop, one of the foundations of Our Culture, throughout my career I have been challenged a few times to change the course of my story, specifically when I took over the Insurance and Guarantees Program in Venezuela and then in Angola.

During both periods, which totaled 11 years of my professional career, I was immersed in different cultures, but always guided by our principles and values, respecting diversity, practicing the delegation I was given and focusing on customer satisfaction.?They were remarkable experiences of overcoming obstacles and experiencing culture in depth.

Today, after 33 years with the Group, I can say with complete conviction that the values that guide the way we work here are, in fact, values for life.

During Our Culture Week, I had the pleasure of sharing with my Horiens colleagues a little of my proud career, reiterating the leading role that each of us plays in practicing and disseminating this philosophy of life and work that directs us, inspires us and guides our future.”
Arlecio, a member for 33 years, today in the Infrastructure Risk and Insurance team
