Norberto Odebrecht Foundation reinforces Novonor Group’s ESG principles during Supera Dialogues
DATE: 08/28/2024
The influence of the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation (FNO) on the dissemination and consolidation of ESG principles within the Novonor Group was one of the highlights of the Diálogos Supera event, held yesterday (27) in Salvador. Camila Giuliani, head of communications for FNO and Novonor in Bahia, took part in the panel “Communication and ESG: how companies are working to connect with operations”, at a meeting that brought together professionals specializing in corporate communications to discuss the latest trends in the sector.
“For us, talking about ESG comes naturally, because Norberto Odebrecht had a pioneering vision ever since we were founded. He talked about sustainable development, the importance of governance and the value of people, a fundamental pillar of Novonor Group. Our culture is strong and contributes greatly to our ability to communicate ESG principles to all our stakeholders,” said Camila. She also mentioned the importance of consolidating the FNO within the Group in order to bring the members of the business closer together and promote values of sustainability and social responsibility.
“We’ve noticed that when the members of the Group, who are spread all over Brazil, get to know the work of our social program up close and interact with the beneficiaries, the impact is even deeper. This experience not only raises awareness, but also inspires these professionals to bring ESG principles to their local operations. From this point, we started to foster volunteer programs, allowing members to experience the ESG in practice,” she concludes.
The panel also included Cíntia Liberato, Communications and Institutional Relations Manager at Bracell Bahia, and Vanessa Silva, Communications Coordinator at Veracel. At the opening of the debate, mediator Fábio Góis, Communications and Sustainability Manager at PetroReconcavo, highlighted the importance of proximity between communications and leadership for the success and sustainability of operations. “Commitment to ESG principles must be built in the short, medium and long term. It is crucial that communication is embedded in decision-making, providing the necessary tools to support these strategies,” he emphasized.
