Enseada Receives Approval for Extrajudicial Recovery
DATE: 12/11/2017
On November 14, Enseada Shipbuilding celebrated an important achievement: the approval of its Extrajudicial Recovery (ER) request with the Rio de Janeiro Court of Law. The purpose of the ER is to restructure debts with specific groups of creditors in an orderly way.
“It is about completing yet another phase that will allow us to create a more stable business environment,” explained Fernando Barbosa, Business Leader of Naval Construction, which is associated with Enseada. “Starting now, we will return to the market even stronger, consolidating our operations in Brazil,” he said.
Strategic Location
The Enseada Shipyard occupies a 1.6 million-square meter area in a strategic location that is ideal for the development of highly complex naval and offshore projects. Located in Maragogipe, at the mouth of the Paraguaçu River and 23 nautical miles from Salvador, it was built in a region of sheltered waters, with a large draft and area for large vessels to maneuver.
The shipyard has a team trained in the Japanese Kawasaki Heavy Industries technology, considered a global reference in quality and productivity. Having recently completed a strategic repositioning process, the company has expanded its possibilities for different operations. It is now prospecting logistics opportunities and other industrial segments while maintaining its core business in the naval and offshore market.
“We opened a new cycle of opportunities and we are seeking out new contracts and partnerships,” said Barbosa. “After a turbulent period that we are getting through, I am certain we will resume our growth,” he said.
