Enseada carries out a Fire Prevention Campaign with surrounding communities
DATE: 12/02/2025
Enseada conducts its annual Fire Prevention Campaign, a key initiative to reduce the risk of fires around the project area. The effort is intensified in the last quarter of the year, a period when the region experiences a significant increase in fire outbreaks. As part of its communication strategy, the company develops new graphic materials every year, carefully designed to guide both internal and external audiences. Informative posters are distributed in high-traffic areas within the company and in neighboring communities, reinforcing essential messages about environmental protection and safety.
In 2025, the campaign gained even more strength with a special action carried out directly with residents of Enseada do Paraguaçu, a neighboring community that historically records several fire outbreaks, many of them resulting from inadequate practices. A representative from Enseada’s sustainability department visited homes, schools, and businesses, delivering educational brochures and, whenever possible, engaging in open conversations about the importance of avoiding the use of fire for land clearing, vegetation management, or improper waste disposal. The initiative aimed to broaden dialogue with the population and reinforce that prevention is a collective effort that protects lives, property, and the environment.

Fires pose serious risks: they pollute the air, worsening respiratory problems; destroy natural areas; harm wildlife; reduce soil quality; and can spread quickly, endangering residents and workers. One of the main causes of such occurrences is the practice of setting fire to garbage or pruning waste—a dangerous and harmful habit. The correct alternative is proper waste disposal, completely avoiding the use of fire.
Enseada emphasizes that preventing fires is everyone’s responsibility. Keeping land clean, avoiding waste accumulation, never using fire for cleaning, and reporting fire outbreaks to the authorities are simple but essential actions to preserve community safety and the region’s environmental integrity. Educational actions and community engagement result in territorial protection, health, and safety for all.
