Edifício Novocais do Porto to house Unimed-Rio in Porto Maravilha

The Edifício Novocais do Porto, a development from Odebrecht Group in Rio de Janeiro, located in Porto Maravilha, will open its doors to other companies. My Office – network that offers an entire office infrastructure – has rented two floors in the building to house Unimed-Rio’s 400 employees. The rooms are distributed in 2.5 thousand square meters. The renovation works have already started and the company can move in at the end of the year.

– Our collaborators will count on modern facilities, with state-of-the-art technology and office infrastructure, in addition of being part of the revitalization of a privileged area of the city, such as Porto Maravilha. That is why we have chosen Novocais – explains Mario Salomão, general superintendent of Unimed-Rio. The company will take to the building the services that were previously provided at Rua do Ouvidor – downtown of Rio de Janeiro.

The public transport infrastructure also contributed for the company moving to the new location.

– With the complete renovation of the surroundings, one of the greatest advantages of Porto’s area is the access to various modes of transport, as the area is served by the VLT, which interconnects with the subway, train, ferries, the Santos Dumont airport, Central do Brasil and Praça XV. At the same time, the area is strategically located between the south region of the city of Rio de Janeiro, with access to tunnels Santa Bárbara and Rebouças, Avenida Brasil, Radial Oeste, Ponte Rio-Niterói, Linha Vermelha and Amarela providing immense mobility for our customers – explains Magdiel Graça, from My Office.

For Armando Iazzetta, director of Novocais, the region is attractive due to its modern buildings.

– The commercial buildings in the region of Porto were built always keeping in mind a constant innovation process, with fiber optics and cabling capable of hosting any kind of business, garages and commercial spaces. More organized and with more planned areas than the southern region of the city and Downtown, Porto is living another moment with the arrival of new companies, says Armando Iazzetta – director of Novocais.

The building is 11-story high with 13,321 m² of built area and capacity for up to 1,500 people. The development has six shops with 1,059 m² available for food and other services and convenience, in addition to a parking area for almost 200 vehicles and bike rack with locker room. The building has facades with high performance thermal and insulated glass that provide more thermal comfort, central cooling system, full-backup generator, independent service access with dock, smoke extraction and integrated automation system, as well as state-of-the-art surveillance and monitoring system. The areas for rent vary from 600 m² – 8,400 m². The recovery of the real estate sector and economy, even if slow, attracts new companies to the region. Only this year more than 7,000 company members moved in to Porto – and also more businesses have opened, including the surroundings of Novocais. In an area next to the building, for example, a big chain supermarket is to be installed until the end of the year. The region already has food, hotel and other services to meet the demand and expects to grow even more.
