    Do good and still get tax benefits? Yes, it’s possible! The Income Tax (IR) declaration period has already begun, and those who have donated to social projects can take advantage of a great benefit: reducing the tax due or increasing the amount of the refund. An example of this is Tribute to the Future, a campaign by the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation (FNO) that mobilises resources to guarantee quality education for young people in the rural areas of the Southern Bahia Lowlands.

    All the money raised goes directly to the Municipal Funds for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (FMDCA), guaranteeing transparency and security in the transfer of funds. The Rural Family Houses, the schools benefiting from the campaign, receive the money through the Municipal Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (CMDCA). In the last edition, the campaign raised R$4.5 million, thanks to the commitment of 1,542 individuals and companies.

    I’m a donor! Am I entitled to the tax benefit?

    Anyone who has contributed to Tributo ao Futuro in 2024 can, when filing their income tax return, secure benefits such as paying less tax or receiving a larger refund. To do this, you need to follow certain criteria: You must declare your personal income tax (IRPF) using the full form; You must have made a donation to a Fund for the Rights of Children and Adolescents – as is the case with the Tribute to the Future campaign, which supports projects approved by the Councils that manage these Funds; You must have a receipt in hand to prove the donation; You must be aware of the limit on the amount that can be deducted: up to 6% of the tax due.

    Step by step to declare a donation

    The procedure is simple and can be done on the IRS Income Tax system:

    1- Access your income tax return and click on the ‘Donations made’ tab;

    2- Select ‘New’ and choose code 40, referring to the Municipal Funds for the Rights of Children and Adolescents;

    3- Enter the CNPJ of the benefiting Fund (available on the donation receipt sent by the Tribute to the Future team);

    4- Enter the amount donated and finalise by clicking ‘Ok’.

    Don’t miss the deadline! The Income Tax return has already started and runs until 30 May. Contribute to a better future and take advantage of the tax benefit!
