International Women’s Day in OR

At OR, the International Women’s Day was celebrated daily during the week of March 8th, through different actions spread throughout the regions that aimed to show admiration and strengthen the inclusion and empowerment of women inside and outside the company.

At the Monvert construction site, located in Bahia, the 60 members participated in a training session that aimed to integrate and motivate women in an interactive way, through activities about the importance of women’s representation in the work environment and a chat with an exchange of experiences that stimulated the participants’ sense of belonging, self-esteem, overcoming, achievement, and purpose.

At the Verano construction site, located in Pernambuco, on March 8th, a meeting was held to celebrate the date and the importance of the female presence in the construction sites. In all, 35 participants attended a lecture by Eli Pontes, Coach and Specialist in Women’s Empowerment, and, at the end, they enjoyed a breakfast together.

Another action taken was the invitation made to some of the members to honor the women who most admire and inspire them within the company. The testimonials about the honorees were sent by e-mail to our members during the days of Women’s Week.

Today at OR, 47.2% of management positions and 54% of internship positions are held by women. These are numbers that, together with the actions, reflect the commitment assumed by the company as a signatory of the UN Women’s Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEP’s), which aim to promote gender equality and female empowerment.
