Project: BIM versus Major Interferences: The Case of the High-Voltage Line at Guaratuba Bridge
The Guaratuba Bridge project, connecting Guaratuba and Matinhos (PR), involves structural, climatic, and environmental challenges, as well as urban interferences. One major obstacle was the 138 kV transmission line crossing the bay and the cable-stayed section of the bridge. To identify and resolve this interference, BIM integrated with drone aerial surveys was applied, creating precise digital models and ensuring greater safety, agility, and cost reduction. The solution resulted in replacing cables with carbon fiber conductors, formalized through a contractual amendment. The learning became structured knowledge for future Odebrecht projects.

Company/Project: Odebrecht Engenharia & Construção / Guaratuba Bridge
Project: Methodology for Verticalizing Metal Casings with a Rotator at Guaratuba Bridge
The project developed a methodology for verticalizing metal casings at sea in the Guaratuba Bridge project, considering factors such as dimensions, weight, weather conditions, and available resources. The solution used a device called a rotator, installed on the support barge, allowing controlled and safe rotation of the casings. The system was optimized for pieces up to 47.7 m and 41 t, incorporating locks and Dawson shackles to simplify lifting. Structural analyses and simulations confirmed the rotator’s integrity, ensuring efficiency, safety, and productivity. The approach reused previous experiences and consolidated best practices for future projects.
