I hereby announce that João Pinheiro Batista Nogueira joined the Board of Directors of Odebrecht S.A. on November 26, 2018, as its 5^th independent member. João’s arrival will reinforce and contribute to the Odebrecht Group’s strategy.

João has an economics degree from PUC-RJ and an MBA in Economic Engineering from Universidade Gama Filho. He has been serving on the boards of companies in Brazil for more than 10 years. At the Odebrecht Group, he has been an independent director at Odebrecht Engineering & Construction since June 2017 and at Ocyan since April 2018, where he will continue to serve until the end of January 2019, after which he will dedicate himself exclusively to the board of Odebrecht S.A.

He also serves on the boards of Light, Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Brasil, Evoltz Transmission and the Instituto de Reciclagem do Adolescente. In his executive career, he was CEO of Swiss Re, Bertin S.A. and Suzano Petroquímica, and held top management positions in companies such as Petrobras, Dresdner Bank, Citibank, Radiobras and Siderbras.
