Braskem is ready to produce higher quality gasoline required by the ANP and expands its Fuels portfolio

Braskem announces to be ready to meet the new resolution of the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), which establishes international quality standards for the gasoline sold in Brazil, comes into force on August 3, 2020.

In Braskem’s view, the new standard goes in the right direction of delivering higher quality and efficient gasoline to clients and society. “Increasing requirements such as octane rating and specific mass will allow the Brazilian consumer access to a fuel with higher performance and yield, being more efficient,” says Cirilo Vieira, director of Braskem’s Fuel Business.

In this context of higher performance standards required by the regulatory agency and by society, besides of being ready to deliver the highest quality in common gasoline, Braskem announces an important expansion in its chemical products portfolio, with the production of premium gasoline for the Brazilian market. This product has high octane rating and can be used in any automotive vehicle, especially those with high performance engines.

Braskem’s premium type A gasoline is available from the Petrochemical Pole of the Grande ABC, in São Paulo. The high octane rating, which indicates how much the fuel resists high pressures inside the engine’s combustion chamber, is the main property of Braskem’s premium gasoline and makes the vehicle more capable of achieving the performance projected by the manufacturer.

As determined by the ANP, the product is sold to the country’s fuel distributors, which in turn add ethanol to the blend and sell premium type C gasoline to gas stations, most of which located in the state of São Paulo. There is also great potential for growth in demand and supply for other regions of the country.

The advances in the area are part of the business strategy guided by innovation and development of new products, which makes Braskem even more competitive.
