OEC wins contract to duplicate PR-092 Highway
DATE: 10/08/2019
OEC – Odebrecht Engineering & Construction is the winner of the bid for the duplication of the PR-092 Highway, which connects Curitiba to Almirante Tamandaré, cities in the southern state of Paraná. The work will last 24 months and will contribute to improve trafficability in the metropolitan region of Curitiba.
The contract with Paraná’s Roads Department (DER-PR) foresees the doubling and expansion of the traffic capacity of the road known as Rodovia dos Minérios (Ores’ Highway), which has a length of 4.74 kilometers, between the bridge over the Barigui River in Curitiba and Almirante Tamandaré.
Planned at R$ 90 million, the work will have funds from Banco do Brasil, which are already available for the execution of the contract. OEC competed with ten other companies and/or joint ventures in a bidding process that included the license and the commercial proposal, in which the company presented the lowest price among the competitors.
“We are a company with technical capacity and national and international recognition for carrying out important infrastructure works in Brazil and worldwide. At the end of the works, the population of Paraná will benefit from the improved traffic conditions of light and heavy vehicles. This is expected to reduce the number of accidents and local traffic”, says Giorgio Bullaty, OEC director.
The scope of the work includes the construction of ten bridges, four viaducts, a pedestrian walkway and 15 containment works. In addition, it will be approximately 500,000 m3 of earthmoving and 40,000 m3 of concrete.
The work will generate approximately 300 jobs with mostly local labor.
