OEC participates in the infrastructure sector fairs and events
DATE: 09/12/2019
In order to strengthen business and maintain a close relationship with its stakeholders, OEC has been participating in important fairs and events in the infrastructure sector.
Last month, the construction company attended the fair of the Pará Federation of Industries, where it is carrying out the works for a BRT bus system. Last week, its representatives visited Rio Pipeline, in Rio de Janeiro, which brought together the pipeline transportation sector. This week there is Exposibram’s mining event in Belo Horizonte.
OEC present at Exposibram 2019
OEC – Odebrecht Engenharia e Construção participates in Expo & Congresso Brasileiro de Mineração – Exposibram 2019, exhibiting its portfolio in the participation of large mining projects around the world. Considered one of the largest mining exhibitions in Latin America, the fair will bring together hundreds of businessmen and representatives of governmental and private organizations. The event will be held from September 9 to 12, in Belo Horizonte (MG), promoted by the Instituto Brasileiro de Mineração (IBRAM).
Carlos Eduardo Rosa, OEC’s Contracts Director, explains that participation in the event reinforces the company’s presence in the sector, which has in its history major mining projects, such as the Yanacocha mine (Peru), the expansion of the railroad and the expansion of the Carajás mine (Maranhão), the construction of important stretches of the North-South Railway (Tocantins), the Usiminas plant in Minas Gerais, among others: “Over the past 75 years, OEC has worked on 142 mining-related infrastructure projects in regions of great geographic and social complexity. This accredits us to act with technical excellence in works of the sector”.
During the event, OEC will have a stand to make the institutional presentation of the company and its entire portfolio. OEC’s mining works also include Angola with the Catoca project and Mozambique with the Moatize Coal project for Vale. In Peru, OEC has a large tradition in the sector, with the Muelle de Mineralles, in Callao, the Matarani project and the Yanacocha Mine. In Brazil, among dozens of works in the sector, the company participated in the implementation of Pier IV of the Ponta da Madeira Terminal and in CSN’s Long Steel project in Rio de Janeiro. In Minas Gerais, in the Timbopeba and Natividade Complex. In Bahia, the company was in charge of Lagoa Real and, in Pará, it executed the Onça Puma and Rio do Norte mining works.
Exposibram
The exhibition will have more than 15 thousand m² of stands, representing the main global mining companies and major suppliers of products and services. During the exhibition, the main trends in technology, equipment, software and other products related to the mineral industry will be presented, as well as data on investments and management.
In the last edition, held in 2017, the exhibition attracted 45 thousand visitors from 28 countries, one thousand congressmen, 107 foreign and 308 Brazilian exhibitors.
OEC shows collection of 5 thousand kilometers in pipeline construction at Rio Pipeline 2019
Odebrecht Engenharia e Construção (OEC) will participate next month in Rio Pipeline 2019, the largest national event of the pipeline industry, which will take place between September 3 and 5, in Rio de Janeiro. The company has a great history in the sector, having implanted more than 5 thousand km of polyducts and gas pipelines in several countries and in areas of extreme climatic conditions, such as in deserts, Amazonian jungle, Andes Mountains and Argentine Patagonia.
For Eduardo Quintella, OEC´s Operations Director in Brazil, the participation in the event is an opportunity to show the entire history of achievements of the construction company in this field: “Our works were made with internationally recognized quality level and we believe that we are ready to meet the demands of any customer in this segment”, he explains.
Fernando Resende, OEC’s Health, Environment and Safety Manager, who works in Argentina, will give a lecture on day 3 about the COE (Centro de Operações de Emergências – Emergency Operations Center), an integrated safety project implemented during the construction of the South Peruvian Gas Pipeline, a project that crosses more than 1,100 kilometers of jungle, mountain range and desert, with altitudes ranging from sea level to 4,900 meters, which required special attention in case of emergencies. The system was awarded the IPLOCA Awards, granted by the main association of manufacturers of this segment, in 2016, in an event held in France.
The OEC will have a 24 m² booth, where it will provide a pipelayer simulator, a type of crane adapted to an excavator developed by VOLVO, in which the visitor will be able to simulate the assembly operation of the pipelines.
Pipeline Expertise
The construction of more than 5 thousand km of gas and polyducts, with diameters ranging from 10″ to 42″, has been through areas with extreme conditions in several works in Brazil, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador and Colombia. In these challenges the most varied special techniques were performed for work in desert areas, sloping terrain and rocky terrain, as well as crossings of large rivers and crossings under highways, streets and railways adopting non-destructive methods, such as horizontal drilling and directional drilling. In addition to the construction of oil and gas pipelines, OEC built gas compressor stations, oil and fuel pumping stations, gas and fuel storage terminals, City Gates, among other activities inherent to the construction of pipeline works.
Rio Pipeline
The event, which is in its 12th edition and is organized by the Instituto Brasileiro do Petróleo, Gás e Biocombustíveis (IBP), will have the participation of specialists from around the world and will provide debates on improving efficiency, quality and safety in pipeline transport. Rio Pipeline will have a diversified program, with lectures, exhibitions, mini-courses and workshops. Last year, the event gathered more than eight thousand visitors from 20 countries, 1,427 speakers and more than 200 technical papers were presented. Information about the event www.riopipeline.com.br
