Braskem opens registration for first class of women entrepreneurs training program
DATE: 03/13/2019
The registration deadline for Braskem Women Entrepreneurs, a Braskem initiative to promote professional training for women in communities near the Petrochemical Complex in the ABC region of Greater São Paulo, is March 14. The partnership with the Female Entrepreneur Network aims to foster local development and income generation by improving employability and supporting businesses led by women.
The program’s target public is women who already have opened business or want to open a business in the formal or informal market who have not had access to any kind of training and want to pursue professional and personal growth.
The community near the ABC Industrial Complex, where the company has production units, is the site chosen to launch the program, with the first class to be formed by 40 local women. They will receive on-site professional training for 32 hours and monthly mentoring sessions during six months, which will focus on economic growth and women’s entrepreneurship. The students also will be able to obtain help on specific questions.
To register for the Braskem Women Entrepreneurs program, complete the electronic form: https://pt.surveymonkey.com/r/EmpreendedorasBraskem. Those accepted will receive confirmation from the NGO Rede Mulher Empreendedora (RME), the women entrepreneur network responsible for the program’s selection process, communication of results and organization.
“Women transform the world through entrepreneurship, which ensures their financial independence and their power to make decisions about their lives,” said Ana Fontes, founder of RME. “With this partnership, we see an opportunity to combine the network’s knowledge with that of Braskem, whose motivation and responsibility focuses on social development. We will share our knowledge and teach women about leadership, sales, digital marketing, strategic planning and business management.”
Flávio Chantre, Corporate Affairs manager at Braskem, explained that the company strives to have a positive impact on the communities where it operates. “Our purpose is to improve the lives of people who live near our industrial units, and we believe in the power of entrepreneurship as a channel for transformation. Braskem Women Entrepreneurs is yet another more initiative we have implemented to leave a legacy for the community by fostering income generation and professional training.”
