Braskem Listed on BOVESPA Sustainability Index for 13th Year

Once again, Braskem has been included on the BM&FBovespa Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE), a portfolio made up of companies that adopt the best social and environmental practices. The Odebrecht Group has been on this list since it was first created in 2005.

The fact that Braskem remains there reflects its commitment to good corporate governance, social responsibility, economic-financial management, and environmental preservation practices. “And it demonstrates, moreover, that it is possible to evolve in a sustainable fashion based on a management strategy that generates value for the Business while at the same time continuously minimizing possible negative environmental and social impacts caused by our activities,” recalled Jorge Soto, Sustainable Development Director at Braskem.

The consistent work to promote sustainability helped Braskem become the first Brazilian company to join the “A” List of the CDP Investor in Climate and Water, an international seal that recognizes those companies with standards of excellence in carbon management and water risk management.
