Enseada supports the formation of a women’s association in a neighboring community
DATE: 03/05/2026

On January 27, the community of Samambaia (BA) experienced a meaningful moment of dialogue, listening, and collective building. Nineteen shellfish gatherers and women farmers came together to begin forming the Community Women’s Association, an initiative supported by Enseada.
The gathering was marked by the sharing of stories, talents, and knowledge, strengthening community ties and reaffirming women’s leadership in local social and economic development. In addition to working in shellfish harvesting and agriculture—traditional and essential activities for the community’s subsistence—the women of Samambaia also stand out in sports, having organized a women’s soccer team born from unity, determination, and collective spirit.
The creation of the Association represents a strategic step toward strengthening community organization, promoting autonomy, expanding income?generation opportunities, and valuing women’s knowledge and practices within society.
Enseada supports this initiative and reinforces the importance of collective organization as a tool to confront historical gender inequalities, expand women’s participation in decision?making spaces, and foster social development. In doing so, the company reaffirms its dedication to valuing traditional communities and supporting actions that promote equity, inclusion, and participation, recognizing the fundamental role of women as protagonists in the transformation and strengthening of the community.
The gathering sowed hope and confidence in the future, demonstrating that when women unite, new possibilities flourish—both for them and for the entire community.
