Crea-SP inaugurates CreaLab Space on Rodoanel Norte and reinforces support for Brazil’s largest road project
DATE: 09/17/2025
The Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy of the State of São Paulo (Crea-SP) has inaugurated the first CreaLab Space in the northern section of the Rodoanel Mário Covas, in São Paulo. The initiative creates a support point for professionals, companies, and universities, offering personalized service and reinforcing the Council’s commitment to valuing the practice of Engineering in the State.
The CreaLab Space seeks to expand the Council’s presence in strategic environments, promoting direct access to services, projects, events, and initiatives. The location was designed to meet the reality and specific needs of those working in the Rodoanel area.
Inspired by the CreaLab Coworking program and the CreaLab digital platform, the space integrates inspection, professional development, and technical guidance into a single physical contact point. The initiative expands the program that offers shared workspaces and has become a robust axis of the Council, with strong adherence among registered professionals. In the last semester alone, CreaLab Coworking registered over 2,300 users across its 36 units spread throughout São Paulo.
In this new model, inspection agents will be available to answer questions on Technical Responsibility Notes (ART), Technical Records Certificates (CAT), and professional and company registrations, in addition to promoting programs and benefits offered by the Council, such as the Benefits Club, Crea-SP Capacita, and the Talent Bank. The latter will also include new job opportunities for the Rodoanel Norte works, to be announced by Via Appia Concessões.
The inauguration event was attended by Crea-SP President, Engineer Lígia Mackey, and Federal Council of Engineering and Agronomy (Confea) President, Engineer Vinicius Marchese.
President Mackey celebrated the opening of the new space: “We are bringing innovation and direct support to professionals, side by side with those who turn projects into reality. This space goes beyond professional oversight. It will also be a hub for knowledge, experience sharing, and integration,” she stated. Marchese emphasized the strategic action to strengthen the sector: “Brazilian engineering needs to be present where transformation takes place. The CreaLab on Rodoanel is a true commitment to technical quality and qualified professional performance. By creating these ecosystems, we ensure safer, more sustainable projects that positively impact society,” highlighted the Confea President.
Large-scale infrastructure project
The northern section of the Rodoanel Mário Covas extends 44 kilometers, connecting Avenida Raimundo Pereira de Magalhães, in São Paulo, to the Presidente Dutra Highway in Arujá, passing through the municipalities of Arujá, Guarulhos, and São Paulo. Currently, over 5,000 professionals are involved in the works. Once completed, this new part of the ring road surrounding the São Paulo Metropolitan Region will ease heavy traffic from the Tietê and Pinheiros expressways.
Luiz Alberto Sette, Director of Engineering and Implementation at Via Appia, the group to which the concessionaire Via SP Serra belongs, praised the joint effort with the Council: “We are very pleased to provide this space to Crea-SP. For us at Via SP Serra, it is essential to maintain an open channel with an institution that contributes to transparency and project monitoring, offering support and ensuring proper working conditions for the engineers working on the Rodoanel Norte,” he concluded.
