In the last weeks of September, encouraging news generated great expectations in the company’s corridors. Three consortia that include Odebrecht in their composition advanced in the bidding processes for expansion works of the metro network in the cities of Salvador and São Paulo.
In the capital of Bahia, the Expresso 2 de Julho Consortium, formed by Álya, Odebrecht, Metro Engenharia, and MPE Engenharia, was qualified by the Bahia Transport Company (CTB) to carry out the works of Section IV of Line 1 of the Salvador Metro, which will connect Lapa Station to the future Campo Grande Station. With the construction of a 1.105 km tunnel, the new station will have the capacity to serve 11,500 people per day. The proposal submitted by the Consortium for the execution of the project amounted to R$ 1.127 billion.
In São Paulo, the Via Celeste Consortium, formed by Odebrecht, Álya, and the Italian company Ghella, presented the best proposals for the construction of lots 2 (R$ 6.7 billion) and 3 (R$ 6.89 billion) of Metro Line 19-Celeste, which will connect the city center to Guarulhos. The line will extend 17.6 km and include 15 stations, 10 of which are in lots 2 and 3, with an estimated daily ridership of 630,000 passengers.
Also in São Paulo, a consortium formed by Odebrecht and PowerChina submitted to the concessionaire Via Mobilidade a proposal of R$ 4.3 billion to carry out the works of Metro Line 5-Lilás. The project foresees 4.4 km of new track and two new stations (Comendador Sant’Anna and Jardim Ângela), in addition to the modernization of all telecommunications systems of the 17 existing stations.
With the conclusion of this first stage in the bidding processes, the period for filing appeals has been opened. Once any challenges are resolved, the next step will be the ratification of the results and the issuance of service orders to begin the works.
