On August 5, the Industrial Knowledge Community of Odebrecht Engineering & Construction held a webinar focused on the reality capture process, presented by the company Construct IN. The initiative aims to boost innovation and the use of cutting-edge technologies at the company’s construction sites.

The main goal of the event was to demonstrate, through practical cases already implemented in Brazil, how these tools can generate significant gains in efficiency, transparency, and execution control, strengthening the company’s operational excellence.

During the presentation, Tales Silva, CEO of Construct IN, detailed the full cycle of technology application—from capturing accurate field data to its integration for generating reliable, real-time visual reports. Examples with measurable results were presented, showing improvements in remote monitoring, stakeholder communication, and quality control. Additionally, the discussion explored direct benefits in physical-financial management and planning, highlighting the technology’s potential to reduce rework, one of the sector’s biggest challenges.

Looking foward, the importance of outlining paths for integrating these new technologies into existing processes and the steps for large-scale implementation in the company’s projects was emphasized. The digital approach not only optimizes current operations but also strengthens innovation capacity and increases productivity in large-scale projects, reinforcing Odebrecht’s commitment to leading digital transformation in engineering.

According to Cristiano Silva, civil engineer on the Industrial Engineering team at Odebrecht Engineering & Construction, reality capture technology is not new to the company, with its first uses dating back to the early 2000s. “The novelty lies in integrating this ‘big data’ obtained through the reality capture process into general engineering workflows (infrastructure and industrial), in an interoperable, secure, reliable way, and most importantly, generating results for all stakeholders through the intelligent use of this mass of information,” he states.
