Published by: Odebrecht Engineering & Construction

Last Thursday (10), the Rio de January state government signed the contract that will make it possible to resume work on the PUC-Gávea subway station. Under the new model, Metrô Rio now has the full concession for the capital’s metro system.

The work will be carried out by the Gávea Construction Consortium, made up of the companies Odebrecht Engineering e Construção and Carioca Engineering. It is estimated that the station will be delivered in 2028 and will serve around 20,000 passengers a day. Around 1,200 jobs are expected to be created at the peak of the works, which will begin after the removal of 36 million liters of water that today provide stability to the wells that have already been dug.
