Braskem Labs Scale launches 4th edition

The entrepreneur acceleration program Braskem Labs Scale is now accepting submissions for its 4^th edition. This year, in addition to innovative solutions in chemistry and/or plastics, it also is seeking companies that help to reduce food waste, which is a wide-ranging topic encompassing businesses throughout the entire chain, from agricultural solutions to packaging, transportation and end consumption.

Those interested in participating have until March 31 to submit their projects via the site www.braskemlabs.com.  The selection criteria include innovation, market potential, profile of the entrepreneur and the team, business model and socio-environmental impact.

After validating the submissions, a panel will select up to 12 companies for four months of personalized training geared to their biggest challenges, which includes individual and group mentoring with Braskem executives and experts from ACE. At the end of the program, a Demo Day is held for participants to present their projects to a group formed by businesspeople, investors, investment banks and other market players.

“Participating in the program is a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs, since it not only creates knowledge to help leverage the business, but also opens doors for negotiations and access to other companies and investors,” said Luiz Gustavo Ortega, from Braskem’s Sustainable Development Team.
