  • OEC present at Heavy Construction Committee meeting

    On March 18, the first meeting of the Heavy Construction Committee was held in São Paulo, an integrated action between the Sinicon, the Aneor and the ABDIB, which hosted the event.

    The meeting brought together experts, businesspeople and representatives of the sector to discuss challenges and opportunities for the strengthening of heavy construction by increasing investment. OEC was represented at the ocasion by Marcelo Piller, Engineering and Innovation Director, and Marcelo Gentil, Institutional and Government Relations Manager. Gesner Oliveira, a consultant and PhD from the University of California (Berkeley), spoke about the challenges and opportunities for the sector.

    The purpose of the committee is to draw up relevant studies, foster strategic discussions and contribute to improving the business environment, strengthening legal certainty and stimulating public and private investment. The meeting discussed topics such as the importance of heavy construction for the country’s infrastructure, the impact of concessions and public-private partnerships, as well as the need to increase investment and strengthen the sector.
