The voluntary commitment is an initiative of the Ethos Institute that aims to promote a more ethical and integral market; Horiens is also a signatory of the Brazil Pact for Business Integrity, from the Office of the Comptroller General (CGU).

Horiens, a specialist in risk management, insurance, and guarantees for large companies, has just become a signatory of the Business Pact for Integrity and Against Corruption. The initiative of the Ethos Institute is a voluntary commitment assumed by private and public companies, whose objective is to unite them in promoting a more ethical and integral market and reducing different corruption practices.

“By becoming a signatory of the Business Pact, Horiens reaffirms our commitment to acting based on ethics and integrity in the business environment and promotes the practice of this culture also in our value chain,” says Marcelo Neves, CEO of Horiens.

The adherence allows the company to access the Ethos monitoring platform, an instrument that aims to diagnose the practices of promoting integrity in the signatories, generate individual reports guiding the evolution, and offer subsidies for the improvement of integrity practices. “By becoming signatories, companies commit to disseminating Brazilian anti-corruption legislation to their employees and stakeholders, so that it is fully complied with. In addition, they commit to prohibiting any form of bribery and prioritizing transparency of information and collaboration in investigations, when necessary,” highlights the Ethos Institute in its certification letter.

“Ethical, integral, and transparent action is one of the values of our corporate culture. Adherence to the Business Pact is another step towards increasingly robust governance at Horiens, as it allows for the improvement of transparency and integrity mechanisms,” says Luiz Fernando Palaio, Compliance Officer of the company.

The Horiens Integrity Program is composed of 10 integrated measures focused on the prevention, detection, and remediation of risks and deviations. In addition, the company has a Code of Conduct for members and partners, an Ethics Line channel, and guiding documentation aligned with applicable laws and market best practices. “Anti-corruption and business integrity programs have stood out on the global sustainable development agenda. And companies play a leading role in this scenario, helping to build and sustain high-value practices for society. It is of great value for Horiens to participate in this movement and an honor to have its Integrity initiatives recognized, to the point of being part of this important Ethos initiative,” emphasizes Palaio.

In July of this year, Horiens also joined the Brazil Pact for Business Integrity, from the Office of the Comptroller General (CGU). With the adherence, according to the CGU, the company also signals to business partners and society as a whole that it understands integrity as an essential element and demonstrates commitment to a fairer and more integral corporate environment.
