The mayor of Miami-Dade County, Daniella Levine Cava, and the director and CEO of Miami International Airport, Ralph Cutié, visited the project to renovate the service counters in the central terminal at MIA Airport. The project, which is being carried out by OEC USA, is part of a wide-ranging effort to improve operational efficiency and the experience of passengers using the equipment.

In 2022, in a consortium with the US company CES, OEC was selected by the Miami airport authority to carry out the complete modernization of part of the facilities in the Central terminal’s check-in area. The scope of work included the installation of new luggage conveyor belts.

Miami International Airport had a record 52.3 million passengers in 2023. The airport, which is the busiest in the Americas for international freight and the second busiest for international passengers, is receiving an unprecedented investment of more than US$7.5 billion in improvements. Miami Airport is Miami-Dade County’s main economic engine, generating revenues of more than US$32 billion.
