Learn more about the new Odebrecht Ethics Hotline Channel
DATE: 05/22/2017
Odebrecht has implemented a series of measures to improve and strengthen its Compliance System, together with its control mechanisms. As part of this new continuous improvement process, Odebrecht has outsourced the Ethics Hotline Channel to a specialized, independent company.
Aligned with international best market practices, the Ethics Hotline allows members, partners or any individual at the company to report behaviors that violate Our Commitment.
The new outsourced, independent model offers the following advantages:
- Guarantees the reporting party’s anonymity;
- Ensures the confidentiality and secrecy of the reported information;
- Improves the report receipt process by offering the option of calling a toll-free number and speaking with a specialist. Those reporting can also use online resources or leave a voice message;
- Allows the reporting party to anonymously monitor the verification and evaluation process of the report made through a protocol.
“We can guarantee that there will be no type of retaliation for those who contribute in good faith, whether through the Ethics Hotline Channel or through any other means, so that we can continue to constantly improve our practices,” said Olga Pontes, Head of Compliance at Odebrecht S.A.
In a statement sent to members of the holding, Pontes emphasized that the commitment to ethical, upstanding and transparent operations is a duty shared by all. “Always inspired by the Principles and Concepts of the TEO, which guide us to act based on commonly-shared ethical and moral values, with unified thinking and coherence in our actions, we emphasize that the participation of our members is crucial along each step we are taking for Odebrecht to reach this new level to win back society’s trust, she said.
